Words for Water and Wonderwebby where are you?

I meant to post this a few days ago for Blog Action Day but I had some strange sub-domain issues take my blog down. You can look forward to a self-hosted wonderwebby.com from next week thanks to Chris. Any tips, feedback or suggestions for my new, improved blog are appreciated! And now back to the regular program…

“Right now, almost a billion people on the planet don’t have access to clean, safe drinking water. That’s one in eight of us. charity: water is a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing nations. We use 100% of public donations to directly fund sustainable water solutions in areas of greatest need. Just $20 can give one person clean water for 20 years” (from charity: water‘)

Today is Blog Action day 2010 and the focus this year is Water. So I took a good look at  Charity: Water’s website, and read up about the founder Scott Harrison. He shared this video about how he got started and how his dream to create access to clean and safe drinking water to those in need became a reality as others joined in. I’ve been inspired reading about this non profit organisation and what they do. 100% of public donations directly fund their water projects.

I’m really grateful that Age of Conversation 3, a collaborative book which I contributed to earlier in the year has made the recent decision to select Charity:Water to receive all proceeds of book sales.

People joined together to support Scott Harrison’s vision for clean drinking water. People joined together to create a book to raise money for charity. Now you can also join in by sharing details of AOC3 (eg on Facebook) or by buying a collaborative book about Social Media. If you buy it now you’ll contribute to greater publicity for the book, therefore greater publicity for Charity:Water.

Please buy 1 copy at a time because Amazon counts bulk orders once – just in case you were thinking of getting a present for a client or two for Christmas ;)

A very special thank you goes to Drew McLellan and Gavin Heaton who came up with the idea and coordinated the publishing of #AOC3 (and the previous Age of Conversation books which also raised money for a great cause.)

Please be sure to join in the conversation and share your support of charity: water!
