Mother's Art

I hung these on my wall today. My mum did them.

It’s physically painful for her to draw or paint, but she still does it. I’m so proud of her.

    Hi WW.

Lovely work. I think the poses and drawing-in of the figures really speak to pain. And It’s a wonderful thing to see examples of courage in working through same and to know that disability does not daunt the spirit. Thank you for sharing these samples of the triumph of beauty and expression over disability.

    Thanks Sol,
Yes, I think you get a sense of frustration through the linework too, the models were already in those poses but I think you are right, you can see pain there.
I think if she had to stop painting or playing the piano it would completely crush her spirit. So rather than “petrify” as she puts it, she puts in a little effort each day, despite the pain she knows it will cause her afterwards. I’m so glad she does.
